“Welcome to the website of Soldiering On and Millie Award Winner Craig Monaghan, A military war veteran who was wounded whilst fighting the global war on terror in Afghanistan. Being wounded in Afghanistan, just North of Sangin D.C brought Craig’s Military career to an end, In 2013 he was medically discharged due to the wounds he sustained. Following his Army career with The Rifles Regiment ending, Craig suffered tremendously with P.T.S.D and life after service. The guilt of the war took its toll, in the years between 2013 and 2015, Craig attempted to take his own life three times and in true Rifleman spirit fought back to turn his life into a positive, using sports he played and loved pre Afghanistan he battled back to represent his country and nation for Team UK and England around the world, by 2020 Craig successfully has helped raise over £165,000.00 for various Charities (Scotty’s Little Soldiers, The Fire Fighters Charity and The Veterans Garage Charity) his recovery won him national recognition and nominations around the country along with helping over 400 veterans recover through his work in sport, charities and projects which has seen him use events and roles from The Warrior Games, The Help For Heroes 40,000 strong campaign, A Premiership Rugby charity
